REVIEW & SWATCHES: NYX Lip Lingerie

I've wanted to do this post for AGES, since the NYX Lip Lingerie's are one of my favourite liquid lipstick formula's ever plus they're super affordable. I'm sure you've all heard how amazing they are already from other youtubers and bloggers, but I thought I'd feature my swatches so that way you can see the colours on a medium (asian) skin tone! I have two shades of the lip lingerie's - Push-Up (a light pinky brown nude) and Ruffle Trim (a dark pink mauve).

They now have a NYX stand alone store in Westfield Stratford - amazing?! I can't wait to visit it, or you can purchase NYX products from Boots stores. If you go to a Boots and they only have the lip lingerie testers, so no actual products in stock, you can always purchase them online from Boots and do a store collection for free - they normally allow you to pick it up from store the next day!

First up, I'll make this review super easy by listing my pro's and con's for the lip lingerie's.

PRO'S

- Opaque colour pay-off in one swatch
- Dry completely matte in a couple of minutes
- Affordable at £6.50
- Huge shade range within nude/mauve/pink/brown shades, which are suitable for all skin tones
- Very long lasting, only comes off when in contact with oil (e.g. oily food)

CON'S

- No shades available in brighter colours e.g. reds, purples
- Get thick and crusty if you re-apply another layer whilst the 1st layer is still drying, SO only apply 1-2 layers whilst it is still wet on the lips
- Can remove with a makeup wipe but sometimes have to use oil-based makeup remover

PUSH-UP

I don't know if you can tell, but with Push-Up I had the issue where the product built up and got ugly thick and settled in my lip lines - I applied one layer, and then probably 30 seconds later I went in and applied a little bit more on the patchy areas, BUT because the 1st layer had already started to dry it just became a mess. This had never happened to me before because I normally apply my liquid lipstick with no distractions - so basically, apply the lip lingerie's in one go and THEN leave it to fully dry. It will then look smooth and amazing!

Overall, I love these liquid lipstick's so much and I cant wait to go out and buy more shades. They're affordable, dry completely matte and last forever - Push-Up especially is a colour I use constantly because it's a great nude shade for my skin tone and literally does not come off. In the swatch picture above I wore it without a lip liner, but I love pairing it with either MAC Spice or Whirl lip liner to add some definition. Ruffle Trim I normally pair with MAC Soar lip liner (MAC lip liners are my fave lols).

I'd highly recommend you all go out and try the NYX Lip Lingerie's, I promise you won't regret it. They're one of my favourite liquid lipstick formula's, along with the Sephora Cream Lip Stains, and you can't beat the affordable price.

I hope you found the blog post useful and if you have any questions, leave them in the comments below or message me on Instagram or via email. I'll speak to you all in my next post!

xoxo

REVIEW & SWATCHES: Stila Glitter Liquid Eye Shadow

My mum gifted me with a couple of the NEW Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows - I had only seen a couple of tutorials on You Tube where beauty gals had used these and I knew I needed them. I must say though that they're pretty pricey for what they are, retailing at £23 each, but if you love glitter like I do then you will LOVE these. It's like applying a loose glitter but in liquid form!

HOW TO: Clean Your False Lashes

It surprises me how so many people don't know that they should clean their false lashes after every use?! I realised when I helped my bestie apply her false lashes and they were covered in lash glue and mascara, I literally couldn't reapply them without giving them a clean. It's not technically a must, obviously there are no rules to makeup, but cleaning your falsies really helps to increase the longevity of them. Therefore, giving them a good clean after every use will allow you to get more uses out of them overall.

The main things to conquer when cleaning your lashes is to get rid of
1. lash glue
2. mascara and eye liner

REVIEW: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

I had never owned a high-end eyelash curler before, I never saw the point in them and I got on pretty well with my £3 eyelash curler from T K Maxx for the past few years. Although, I had always seen reviews on the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler on You Tube where people raved about how great it was, but the £20 price always threw me off.

Then came a day where I worked for Shu Uemura for a few days in Harrods in the Summer. Even whilst working there, I had so many customers ask to buy the eyelash curler, which reminded me how popular it was. I decided to try out one of the eyelash curler testers to see if they were actually any good, and I was blown away. It was definitely way better than my T K Maxx eyelash curler... So I caved in and bought one!

HOW TO: Cover Dark Circles

I always get messages on my Instagram @fabuleusebeauty asking how I cover my dark circles - if you've seen some of my before and after shots on Insta then you'll know that there's a big transformation when it comes to my eye bags! Of course I list all the products that I use on Instagram makeup posts, but it's hard for you all to understand the techniques that I use, so I'm making this post to explain all my secrets.

The Return Of Fabuleuse Beauty!

oh my god, it feels so weird to be typing a blog post?! HEY EVERYONE, how are you all doing??? I am alive and have returned to my blog after a year and a half, so exciting!

If you follow me on Instagram then you would know that around the time that I stopped blogging and Fab Beauty (temporarily) died, I first started University. I seriously thought that I could maintain my blog and do posts once a week, but Uni was so overwhelming that it was impossible. It wasn't a problem with workload, because obvi it's first year lol so work wasn't a stress at the beginning, but my first year was so busy socially and in terms of events and just adjusting to the Uni lifestyle. Also, after having blogged for so long (I made 65 blog posts, woah), writing blog posts sadly started to feel like a chore. It felt like another piece of homework that I had to do when I got home, so it wasn't all that fun anymore </3 That's why I decided to stop blogging and not force myself to produce blog posts every week, when really they ended up becoming quite shitty.

If any of you are wondering if anything has changed or happened while I've been gone, well there isn't much :( I started my Psychology undergraduate degree at the University of Warwick in October 2015, and oh I've actually been blogging as the Psychology Student Blogger for Warwick Uni since then so you can have a read of my blog posts if you like - they're not that fab so please don't judge me. I completed my first year of Uni, went to Tenerife in the summer of 2016, OMG I met Nikkie Tutorials!!! um then I turned 20 years old in September 2016 sad times no longer a teen, and now I'm in my second year of Uni. My life is pretty dull but go check out my Instagram @fabuleusebeauty if you want to see actual pictures of my life over the past year and a half (mainly makeup looks tbh).
