For Valentines Day, I created a dramatic eye with a pop of pink and shimmer. If you're feeling brave and love makeup then give this look a go, its a lot simpler than it looks! Although for an easy valentines look, a bold pink or red lip is the easiest thing to go with, but I thought I'd go for something different...
STEP ONE
Firstly, prime your eyes with your favourite primers! I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion to prevent oiliness and MAC's Painterly Paint Pot to create a blank canvas. On top, take a bone coloured eye shadow and pack it all over your lid and up to the brow.
STEP TWO
To make the process easier, place some tape a tiny bit under your lower lashes going up to the brow. Then buff a light peach eye shadow in your upper crease, with a large fluffy blending brush - your first transition shade.
STEP THREE
Next, take a warm toned shadow of an orange undertone and buff it directly into the crease, going slightly up into the peach shade.
STEP FOUR
To create definition, take a dark purple eye shadow with a smaller blending brush. Work this directly into the crease, in windshield-wiper motions, whilst pulling the shadow out slightly towards the end of your brow.
STEP FIVE
Now take your favourite dark pink eye shadow! I actually used a blush and sprayed my brush with MAC Fix + to get the most pigment. Apply this with a flat shader brush all over your eye lid.
STEP SIX
Take a combination of dark purple and black eye shadows and work this into the outer third of your eye lid. Apply the colour with a precise brush into that corner, then buff it into the pink and slightly into the crease with a small blending brush.
STEP SEVEN
Adding this sparkle on the centre of your eye lid will make it look bigger and stand out! I used MAC's Tan Pigment, which is a gorgeous rose gold shade that is so pigmented that you only need a tiny bit. I used a flat shader brush to apply the most pigment in the very centre, whilst then feathering out any excess into the pink. I also applied some on the inner corner of my eye to make the eyes look even bigger!
STEP EIGHT
You can choose to leave your waterline bare, use a nude pencil or black like me! Lately I've been loving black gel liner in my waterline since its so easy to get instant colour pay off. I applied it on both my upper and lower waterline, whilst bringing it down onto my lower lash line a tad. I had also set the gel with some black eye shadow.
STEP NINE
As a final step, take the dark purple you used in your crease and swipe that back and forth onto the black on your lower lash line. Then take the warm orange eye shadow and buff that with a blending brush just below the dark purple - don't be afraid to blend it out for ages! I then applied a few coats of mascara to thicken them up, whilst curling them too - feel free to use false lashes - and then you're done!
I hope you enjoyed this pictorial, please let me know in the comments below if you think its any good?! Also, whether you're going out with someone special, with your mates or chilling at home, I hope you have a fab Valentines Day.
xoxo
