I had never owned a high-end eyelash curler before, I never saw the point in them and I got on pretty well with my £3 eyelash curler from T K Maxx for the past few years. Although, I had always seen reviews on the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler on You Tube where people raved about how great it was, but the £20 price always threw me off.
Then came a day where I worked for Shu Uemura for a few days in Harrods in the Summer. Even whilst working there, I had so many customers ask to buy the eyelash curler, which reminded me how popular it was. I decided to try out one of the eyelash curler testers to see if they were actually any good, and I was blown away. It was definitely way better than my T K Maxx eyelash curler... So I caved in and bought one!
Mine was a bit nasty when I took these pictures, I apologise, but the eyelash curler comes with an additional silicone refill pad that you can insert when your one gets old and worn out. Ideally you should curl your lashes before mascara, because it's quite dangerous to do it after mascara incase the curler pulls out any of your lashes. I normally squeeze the curler at the very base of my lashes 2-3 times and the results are amazing!

Since the eyelash curler lifts up your lashes so much, it reveals the flesh toned colour of your upper waterline (you can see it peeking through just below my upper lashes). Therefore, I run a bit of black gel liner on my upper waterline to disguise it, which in turn makes my lashes look even thicker! It would be way easier to use a black eye pencil, but my eyes water so much so the pencil would transfer down if I used one :(

The transformation is seriously amazing, I can't go a single makeup day without using my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. If you're after long curly lashes, then I'd definitely recommend trying this! If you're hesitant to spend the £20 straight away, maybe pop into Harrods or Selfridges to try it out first!
